Hello! I'm Deborah

I'm a researcher with a keen interest in the what's and how's of human social behavior, both on- and off-line. Presently, I'm curious about people's interactions with AI as a substitute for human connection.
I think in systems and work by understanding people's stories and narratives, from their dailies to their idiosyncrasies. This often looks like asking questions at the ends of spectrums: What makes people look up from their screens, but also what keeps them glued to it? How do women work within male-dominated fields, but also juggle domestic work at home? Why do people believe in things they cannot see and disbelieve things that they can see?
In essence, my work involves investigations into people's perceptions of experiences, both meta and observed. I also like my analysis, in-situ, and my methods, merged. (Adjectives are my favorite literary appendage.)
When I'm not rhyming innocuous sentences, I love geeking out about new research developments across fields, going on long walks, and painting whimsical landscapes!
